At the End of the Day

I feel better.

I was agitated.

You know, one and two posts back. The whole bully thing. That put me off my game.

So. I read some. I Thought It Was Just Me, by Brene Brown and The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz.

And I did some chores. I fixed the shower door. And the garage door. And mowed the back lawn. And vacuumed the stairs. And picked up the dog poop. (Almost in that order.)

I feel better.

But back to the books. Brene Brown’s book is all about shame. Holy Cow. Totally eye-opening. Please read it. I didn’t know how much shame I was carrying around. Shame is such a buried deep down, unacknowledged emotion. And yet. There it was. I had no idea. But. Let me tell you. She is on to something. If you don’t have time to read the book. Please watch her TED Talk…and then read her books!

Don Miguel Ruiz is a Toltec Master. The Four Agreements feels as if it is written in a different language  It will put your brain in an altered world. We need to do that sometimes.

In short.  Here are the Four Agreements:

Be Impeccable with Your Word.

Don’t Take Anything Personally.

Don’t Make Assumptions.

Always Do Your Best.

I appreciate that this will take time to absorb. And yet. I already feel the shift.

I am much less agitated.

  1. If you need to work through agression/agitation, come to my house, I’ve got lots of things that need fixing… And I will breathe deeply and appreciate it all.
    keep the good vibes coming.
