Do No Harm

How about when you realize that someone took advantage of you?

What to do with that?

You might not realize it, until all the dust has settled.

And then you’re like. That person really hurt me. And didn’t care. Because they got what they wanted.

What about that? What about you are brave and you go to them and say. Wow. Your actions were very harmful to me.

And they say. Yeah. Sorry. That’s just how I roll.

Evidence that there are people out there who will do that. And I for one. Never wanted to believe it.

I wanted to believe that all people have motivation to do no harm.

Is that so naïve?

Here’s a maxim:

You are free to do whatever you want, so long as you do no harm.

Do no harm.

If only everyone could abide by that simple statement.

Even if people tried to do that. Because sometimes, you do harm when you don’t mean to.

But there are people out there who simply do not think that way.

They believe that their desires come before all others. Even if their desires cause harm.

Yuck right? Could you imagine being that person?

  1. Interesting, and satisfying. Why? Because you’ve just identified one of the central tenets of Wicca, and witchcraft. Our first rule (and there are only 2, but they encompass literally everything) is, ‘And it harm none, do what ye will’. If we all kept that in mind, in most if not all aspects of our daily lives, how vastly cooler and more peaceful our Terran reality would be, and how much closer to the divine’s plan for us we’d be.
